This impressionist tree sculpture embodies the energy and potential inherit in diverse and inclusive communities. From its base, the central pillar of the sculpture rises from the ground and climbs toward the sky, pointing upwards to a bright, boundless future. Multiculturalism and community diversity are represented by the individual columns of the central pillar, beginning apart from each other, but steadily coming together – supporting each other and adding strength and stability to the structure – in the same way that, many individuals come together to build a vibrant community.
The flowing bands of steel branches represent the positive energy that comes from a diverse, inclusive and healthy community – individuals and community groups coming together, inspiring each other to achieve their highest potential.
This sculpture is made of hand-forged iron flat bar for the trunk and round bar for the branches. It is galvanized and finished in a natural steel patina for weather resistance and durability. It is welded to a sheet metal base approximately 3’ x 3’ that can be bolted to any hard surface.
